Mr. Joseph Bou Simaan, head of our vocational department, was invited among others from Lebanon involved in implementing the Dual System, to visit Germany from 26Mr. Joseph Bou Simaan in Germany October until 2nd November 2008. They were accompanied by Mr.Jurdens from GTZ Lebanon and Dr. Georg Stecher from GTZ Germany. Their program included visits to e.on in Erfurt Thüringen, BMW in Leipzig, BTZ Rohr-Kloster CPTT-(center of professional & technological training) in Sud Thüringen, and VW Company in Wolfsburg. Their trip included a visit to the parliament in Berlin and other places in the city. The visit was extremely helpful for learning about the Dual System in vocational training and how it is implemented in Germany.
Mr. Tanios Makhoul, trainer in our Industrial Mechanics workshop, attended an advanced training session in TIG-Welding from 24 until 28 November 2008 in SLV (Schweißtechnische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt) in Mannheim. He attended both theoretical and practical training sessions of TIG-Welding on different metals. The workshop was extremely helpful for him in upgrading his welding skills and bring new ones to his colleagues and students in Lebanon. We express our most sincere gratitude to GTZ for including JLSS in its training program, and we look forward to further cooperation with GTZ.
